Bodegas Ontañón Rioja Blanco, Rioja

Pronounced aromas of pear and white flowers - acacia and jasmine.  There is tropical fruit too and well-integrated but evident oak from its 4 months in American barrels.  The palate is poised, with the coconutty, vanilla accented oak complemented by fresh acidity.  Flavours of pineapple, lemon zest and brioche notes linger on the lengthy finish.  Produced solely from Viura grapes grown in the Siete Caminos vineyard, on south-east facing slopes. ABV 12.5%
