Domaine Masse “Vielles Vignes” Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy
Founded in the late 19th century when Claude Masse, a cooper, began to grow vines on the family estate near Châlon-sur-Saôn. Subsequent generations invested time and money in improving the facilities. Since 2000, Claude's great grandson Fabrice has been at the helm farming 15 hectares of vineyards in the Cote Chalonnaise. His old-vine Pinot Noir has a lovely nose of plum and cherry fruits, interwoven modestly with subtle oak. The palate is charming, laden with sweet fruits and rounded out by soft tannins and juicy acidity.
