Fog Mountain Merlot, California

A Merlot dominant right-bank inspired blend with around 15% Cabernet Sauvignon adding structure, seasoned with 5% Petit Verdot to provide a dash of spice. Black cherry and bramble fruit dominate the nose, backed by floral violet and clove spice. On the palate, the ripe cherry fruit persists, complemented by a touch of earthiness. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, ripe tannins and a well-defined finish.  The name "Fog Mountain" pays homage to the cooling impact of both the Pacific mists and altitude which keep grapes cool and prolong the growing season, allowing for fully ripe, flavourful grapes with the right balance between sugar and acidity. ABV 14.5%
