Here & There Malbec, Swartland

Malbec is not a grape commonly associated with South Africa but the warm, dry region of Swartland is increasingly gaining a reputation as a high quality source of this venerable Bordeaux variety.  The vines for this example are grown on Swartland’s granite-rich, alluvial soils which produce low yields of small, concentrated berries.  A red berry and sweet spice accented crowd-pleaser with supple structure and bright acidity.
