Domaine de la Chapelle “Les Joueurs” Chinon, Loire

This is a stunning cool-climate red wine made exclusively from Cabernet Franc (known locally as Breton). Intensely fragrant with rose, lead pencils and fresh red berries.  There is a lovely gaminess here too but it is playing backup to the fruit. The palate is full of crunchy red berries.  The acidity carries a long, precise finish.  This style of wine is exceptionally trendy these days and the sort of thing us wine lovers should be drinking more of.  Perfect as an Autumn red. ABV 12.5%
