Shadow Point Chardonnay, Monterey County, California

From Monterey County, one of the premier sources of Californian Chardonnay fruit.  On the nose, there is plenty of bright melon and peach overlaying toasted hazelnut aromas.  The palate has more stone fruit and oaky richness but it remains extremely fresh with excellent length.  French Oak is obviously used but judiciously so and this wine will offer a lot of pleasure for people who enjoy a richer style.  The name Shadow Point relates to the shadows which form over the vineyard as the setting sun falls in the west, behind the neighbouring hills. ABV 14%
