Coterie by Wildeberg Cabernet Franc Malbec, Coastal Region

A fresh and vibrant nose of bright red berries, blackcurrant, wild plum and dried herbs. Plush and richly flavoured with ripe cherry, a savoury, herbal mid-palate followed by clove, vanilla and star anise from the 20 months spent in French oak.  The richness of fruit is offset by fine tannins on the sappy finish. The grapes for the Coterie are naturally fermented whole-bunch (stalks and all) to lend complexity and structure.  They are not crushed, with only daily pump over and minimal handling, allowing the true nature of the vineyard to shine through. ABV 14%
